Once again, in 2019 the Human Values Foundation held its “Stories on Values” Competition to celebrate World Values Day in October. We invited children aged from 7 to 11 from all over the world to submit their own stories based on their favourite values and asked children aged 4 to 11 to send in their values-themed artwork.  There were so many imaginative and inspiring entries that the judges (Ed Mayo from Co-Operatives UK, the values in healthcare expert Dr Paquita de Zulueta, and children’s author James Minter) had a hard time in deciding the prize-winners. In the end, the best story prize was awarded to Shaheer, aged 11 from Elmwood Junior School, Surrey, UK for his touching story Always Be Kind, and a prize for artwork went to Sofia aged 6 from Capel Manor Primary School, London, UK for her striking picture Kindness Is My Magic

This year's winners Their schools can feel very proud of the children who won prizes, all of whom have been awarded a personal copy of The Big Think Stories Book.   Shaheer also won a book token for his school library worth £150. The Runner up, Toby from Sri Sathya Sai Spiritual Education, London, UK with his story Kindness Is Golden, won one worth £75 and each of the 6 children whose stories were highly recommended won a book token worth £25 for their school libraries.

We have compiled a PDF booklet with all the marvellous prize-winning entries along with lots of the other excellent stories and pictures sent in.  This latest publication is available to download, free of charge using the link below.  Every child whose work has been published in the 2019 booklet has received a congratulatory certificate.
